Service was great, and the food was delicious. There is French music playing in the background and our waiter was definitely French. I'm not a big fan of grilled cheese, but this was so flavorful it blew my mind. I would definitely come back here just to bask in the greatness of this grilled cheese again. The burger was also very flavorful! Fresh not frozen beef, cooked medium well as I had asked for.
Nicholas LochanDelicious food! But forget about the food. We went in the evening and it was just one waiter, David. This made me nervous because I knew that the restaurant was about to be packed. But let me tell you, David did his thing! He was such a great and attentive waiter. He is an invaluable member to the staff and I hope that he will be there the next time I go to New York.
Primrose ThompsonGreat food and service, a Frenchman Dave was very helpful and friendly throughout the meal. For a night out with a loved one or a group of people would highly recommend. Wonderful experience and amazing food, who knew snails could be so good.
Besim LikaCappuccino was delicious! The crepe was true and authentic French style. I usually don't like whip cream, theirs added a great flavor. The croissant was one of the best I have had!
Nour JabriGreat place for brunch. Highly recommend the Eggs Scandinaves. Staff was very friendly. Great way to start a Sunday.
Ana PimGreat friendly restaurant. Good food not too pricey. Would certainly recommend it - worth a visit!
Eilin KirwanThis place is delicious. I have ordered a few different items and each one was fantastic.
Stuart HirschVery good food and service. Small restaurant hidden in Skillman Ave., however food is really good. Try snails, their bread, baked salmon and pate. Servers make you feel like special.
Femi DushkaI’ve never made a review before, but Cote Soleil deserves one. One of the best places I've ever eaten at. Great good, great service and great prices, plus a friendly wait staff.
Jonathon KlineWonderful! Warm, friendly service, excellent food, intimate setting. Thrilled to have found this neighborhood gem! And the owner's brother's homemade digestif (orange dessert wine) was spectacular. What a lovely New Year's Eve treat. My husband and I will most definitely be back, probably to try their crepes. Thank you so very much!
Elena JenkinsIt’s a hidden gem! A private little place. The service is great, and the food are delicious! We came here for a brunch and we ordered croque madame, pain perdu and le baguez. The pain perdu taste so good and it is also well plated when handled to us. The warm chocolate makes the French toast even more tasty. Will definitely come back and try their dinner plates!
Kexin H.I don't have a single complaint about my experience here at Côté Soleil. Everything that I had tasted so fresh and delicious. The food was excellent, the service was great too. My server was very friendly and helped making some food decisions, like this delicious dessert special they had. I would definitely go back.
Angel O.Love this place!! It's small, cute and simple. Very well decorated, too. I came here for brunch with a friend and was seated immediately (although it got pretty busy by the time we left). I had the buckwheat crepe with salmon/onion/eggs/cheese/scallions and it was amazing! It came with a side salad ($14). My friend and I also ordered a side of fries. To my surprise the fries were amazing! Very flavorful and crispy. I would also recommend their iced tea. They have some cool flavors for lemonade on the menu as well. Service was good/friendly, too! I look forward to coming back.
Katharine S.This place is incredibly authentic and French (coming from an actual Frenchman in our party when we went with to the restaurant). There are some reviews saying the pate meatloaf is not spreadable, but in classical French cuisine it's not meant to be spread, just put on top of bread and eaten. Same with foie Gras as I was trying to spread it on the bread like noob. Haha! Tried to get the coq a vin as that's usually my favorite but that was out! So I got the mussels and that was awesome. Creamy sauce while super fresh and such a big portion! We were all too full for dessert but hear great things about the floating island!
Torie W.Dropping by for a late Sunday brunch, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming interior despite the questionable exterior. Ordering the quiche and the salmon buckwheat crepe, respectively, my friend and I both devoured everything prior to ordering cafe au lait before heading out. Everything was delicious, and the servers were all incredibly friendly. I look forward to returning for dinner!
Rebecca G.Cote Soleil is indeed a gem. A small quaint comfortable restaurant. I did have some trepidation when I realized there was only one server, but he was most accommodating and friendly. I chose the Baked Brie with honey, I can only describe this appetizer as delicious! We ordered the Le Gratin De Choux Fleur, Cauliflower Gratin ,as a side, equally as yummy! Each one of us ordered a different dish, Chicken Corden Bleu ,La Bouillabaisse, Le Boeuf Bourguignon, Caesar Salad with Jumbo Shrimp and Lobster, all delicious and beautifully presented. Our meal was perfectly accompanied with Red Wine. I look forward to returning! A 3 thumbs up for sure!! Remember to try the Champagne Mojito!
Jan S.Just finished our first meal (thank you Sunnyside restaurant week!) and cannot wait to come back. The service, atmosphere and food were outstanding. We sampled the: escargot, French onion soup, coq au vin, ratatouille, salmon, chocolate mousse, creme brûlé and champs. All highly recommended!
Jessica S.This place is a absolutely gem in the heart of Woodside . The food was great it’s real authentic French. I enjoy my Le Chicken Coq a vin ❤️ definitely coming back here! The service is good, and David was great! Merci Boucoup!
Edna Intal QuiambaoI love French food and this is as authentic as it gets. The beef bourguignon & cassoulet were outstanding & authentic. The homemade pate was a great way to start the meal. Desserts looked fantastic but we were so full. Can't wait to go back.
Jennifer BrosnanCame here this past weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. The entire place is charming, from the decor to the staff. Every bite of food (and we ordered almost everything on the menu) was delicious. The recipes are all personal dishes created by the owner and chef. I will absolutely return again. And again. And again.
Stephanie WilliamsHad a lovely dinner with a friend on Wednesday night. Good food and wine. Nice cozy location with good music creating a nice atmosphere. Perfect for conversation. Commendable service. We did not feel rushed at all and if I lived closer would make this a regular spot.
Gisela ClaveriaBack again for the 3rd time. Service is excellent & food delicious. Love the champagne mojito. Definitely going back to this cozy restaurant!
Donna StojanovicWas absolutely amazing! The place is small but cozy. The food was really delicious, loved the Escargot a lot...we ate so much and enjoyed everything, and they even served us complimentary champagne! The owner was very Nice and humble. The servers were very attentive and courteous. We definitely recommend this place!
Marlen MvcThe food is incredibly good, both at brunch and at dinner. I'm no French cuisine expert, but my dad is from France so I've been there a bunch and this place seems to get it right. Their savory crêpes are served on gluten free buckwheat (I love the salmon one). When I went for dinner, everything was so lovingly prepared, from the appetizers to the desserts. There are no liquor options, but their sangria and champagne mojito cocktails are pretty great. Everything is at a chill yet steady pace even when it's busy, and the staff is incredibly nice. They create a really welcoming atmosphere, which is only helped further by their consistently great music selection. Can't recommend this cozy, wonderful place enough.
Ethan GoodingVery sweet little spot for French food with numerous staples of French cuisine. The food is simple but well executed and good. The menu is reasonably priced (and they have a dinner special!) and the staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Everyone here seemed to be a regular! Don’t forget the chocolate mousse at the end 😊
Eliott LevyGreat friendly restaurant. Good food not too pricey. Would certainly recommend it – worth a visit.
Eilin KirwanSuch friendly service, such good food. Haven’t had a bad dish here, if you’re here in the winter the cassoulet is excellent. They punch well above their weight for French food in NYC.
Marcos MartinezGreat food, unlike any other restaurant I've been to with beyond five star service. Restaurants a bit small but it's cozy and the food as well as service makes up for that. A must try restaurant.
Francine HarrilalExceptional food and service makes you feel like you visited France. It is a place to relax and truly enjoy your food and drink.
Tricia HealyAuthentic fresh French dining. Steak tar tar and escargot like you would have in Paris. Servers and all staff were superb in a cozy setting.
Clare KenefickCozy bistro with warm service. The Le coq au vin is expertly cooked, it's not rubbery, it's one of the easiest dish to make a mistake, which is a good sign if a decent bistro. The basic ingredients the user are of good quality, the butter is delicious, mustard is amazing, another good sign of quality food you will get. It can get a bit crowded, so come early, so you can get your order in the line, the food can take a while, do order an appetizer for the wait.
Benny RadjasaQuiche, French onion soup excellent, but the Floating Island desert was over the top. A work of art and delish! Wish I could post a picture.
Rosamond GianutsosI love it! Food is good. Just the right size portion. If you want to come here it's better if you call for reservation. I recommend their crepes. I ate here during brunch time. They are so nice there.
Mary May YapThe service here was amazing. I came with a group of 6 to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We ordered a bunch of things off the menu and ate family style, and everything was fantastic. I can't say that I've tried too much French food, but I've always felt it was a bit too bourgeois for me, but I felt very much at home here and enjoyed everything. The server (maybe owner?) was super friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. Definitely one of the best service experiences I've had in NY, and will definitely return. Only downside was that everyone in my group had a bit of a hard time finding parking, but I'd deal with that hassle again for their food and service.
Francis SuhThis is a must in Sunnyside. Excellent French cuisine and super friendly service in a intimate setting. Get the eggs Benedict!
Kathryn RittwegerVisited last night with my wife for the 3rd time. The new tables and chairs increase the comfort level from when they first opened. My wife ordered coq au vin and I had cassoulet. We started with pate maison. All great choices. The chef obviously knows what he’s doing, and the service is up to the task as well. It’s a small place so don’t come here after you’ve done all your Christmas shopping - there won’t be room. But if you want great French food in the neighborhood you found a place. I don’t know how this place thought Skillman Ave would be a good location, but I don’t care. We win.
